Le Nautile Beachfront exceeds its 3* expectations. Our room was great, albeit with a tired-looking drawer unit, but had a very comfortable bed. We had a shower over the bath, mini-bar with space for our own stuff, airco and balcony. We had a ground-floor sea-facing room so we could walk from our balcony across some grass and directly on to the beech. Superb. The pool area was exceptional for a 3* hotel, with separate large pool, kiddies pool and jacuzzi. It is all well-cleaned on a daily basis. Next to it is the cocktail bar and restaurant. Great cocktails are standard, with freshly cooked food of 4* standard or higher. The lamb rack and creole langoustine topped my favourite list! The a-la-carte menu did not change over the 2 weeks of our stay, but it was possible to go half-board on a day to day basis to get a 3-course meal different to the standard menu. There is direct access to a sandy beach (but with a fair bit of broken coral in it) that is protected by a reef and safe for swimming. There are paddle boards and other kit for hire. The hotel and beach are just a shade off due west facing, so just about every night is a wonderful display of colours as the sun sets. Rèunion is mainly French-speaking but most staff knew enough English to be of help. The same applied to places we visited around the island. Do not be put off if you do not speak French, but life will be easier if you do.

A relatively expensive hotel for a three-star hotel that benefits from its location right on a sensational beach. If you choose a ground floor room with direct access to the beach, it's unbeatable. Excellent hearty breakfast with a wide choice of buffet. We didn't have the courage to try dinner though after a nasty experience on our last stay :-) It was so nice here that we completely lost track of time and cleared the room in a panic only after alerting the staff, but they were still very nice and didn't even get angry.

All corners of the building and the rooms were very clean and in good repair. The staff was welcoming, nice and very obliging. The location was perfect: right on the beach. The pool was a good size. Breakfast was plenty and the restaurant had tasty dishes. The size of the hotel was rather small which made it more personal. Parking space seemed kind of tight but we always managed to get a spot.

Andrea

The staff was extremely friendly and always ready to help. The rooms were clean and the breakfast was great. The hotel has a small and cozy beach which is very quiet and easily accessible. Overall I can recommend this hotel!

My room was terrific! I had a terrace that looked right out onto the beach with a beautiful ocean view! The bed was comfortable and there were extra pillows and a blanket in the closet if the ones supplied were not enough!
